Life Story

I first came to The Village in 2004, and it has been a joy to be a part of this body over the last decade. I was raised in a home with parents who emphasized the gospel and stewarded well the responsibility of pointing me to a “better Father.”

Jesus tells His disciples in John 14:2, “In my Father’s house, there are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?” In the winter of 2004, I was offered a room in Lima, Peru, to serve as a volunteer with Champions for Christ. I spent five months living in Lima within a Peruvian church community that cared for me and loved me well. I moved to Peru to escape a life I had grown tired of—but, during my time there, my heart was broken and transformed by the Lord. To this day, I am so amazed at His mercy and grace in revealing Himself to me in that place.

Jesus says, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know Him and have seen Him” (John 14:6-7). Thank God for a Savior who does not relent and who makes Himself known.

I am blessed with a wonderful wife, Rebekah. We met each other through The Village in 2006 and are now parents to three amazing boys: Henry, Silas and Baker.

Hope for The Village Church

My hope for The Village is that we will be a church body that walks in humility, giving God His deserved glory as we embrace His much needed grace. I pray that we will always be mindful of Christ’s unique sacrifice as we live each day in the shadow of His cross, intentionally serving our families, our communities, the world and each other because of hearts that have been changed by the gospel.
