We believe that God has uniquely gifted and called each of us to play a pivotal role in advancing His kingdom in our local community. Local Missions at The Village Church is centered around activating our church, to be the church, outside the church. We accomplish this by equipping individuals to share their faith, exposing them to local needs through service opportunities, and connecting them with strategic partners committed to spreading the gospel in our area.

How to get involved with Local Missions

Outreach Training is a 12-week class that equips the saints to be empowered to proclaim the gospel and make disciples with confidence and competence within the spheres the Lord has placed them in. The secret sauce of Outreach Training is that we rotate each week between the classroom and out in our community. One week we learn what is true and the following week we apply alongside an experienced leader. Register here.

We believe that God hears and answers the prayers of His people. He uses our prayers to advance His kingdom. We are committed to praying that the gospel would accelerate through our own church’s efforts and our partnerships around the world (2 Thess. 3:1). We gather throughout each week corporately to intercede on behalf of our members, our leaders, our city, and our missionary partners serving around the world. Learn more about some of our scheduled prayer times and our philosophy behind our Prayer ministry.

We are driven by a commitment to address the vital issues impacting our community. We focus on ensuring the well-being of our children, addressing food insecurity, restoring families, combating human trafficking, and restoring dignity to those who are most vulnerable.

Join us as we come together with local organizations to develop and implement solutions to these complex challenges. By partnering with us, you can contribute to creating a supportive environment where every individual and family can thrive. Explore how your involvement can drive change and make a significant impact on our community.

Are you a part of the TVC family and have an organization in Southern Denton County on your heart that you think we'd like to know about? We invite you to share about that organization with us through the form below! While we can't respond to every nomination, we will document each one and keep them under consideration as we grow our network of area ministries.

The Cothran Local Missions Youth Leadership Scholarship awards $2,500 to one male and one female graduating senior at The Village Church who embody the heart of Christ through community service. In addition to the above ways to get involved, TVC also supports and provides several resources for those who may have additional or more specific needs:
