Church Planting

God has determined the exact time and place in which we live, work, and play for His glory (Acts 17:26). We steward our resources well and spread the gospel further when we build up healthy, gospel-centered churches. We multiply the kingdom by planting these churches, whose people can continue the good work of making God known and enjoyed in DFW and beyond.

The New Testament model for the spread of the gospel is churches planting churches. The New Testament model centered on a group of people called the “church” sending out followers of Jesus Christ to proclaim Him in new lands. As these Christians proclaimed the gospel and the number of Christ followers increased, new churches began. Churches then planted other churches as they equipped, trained up, and sent out men to lead new churches.

The Village Church desires to continue this mission of God in planting churches through our Church Planting Program. At its core, the Program is developmental in nature and will prepare men in both the theological “why’s” and practical “how-to’s” of church leadership before launching them into pastoral ministry and church planting.

What is the Church Planting Program?

The Church Planting Program is a Cohort Training, consisting of training, readings, cohort discussions, and intentional investment in the 11 competencies of a Church Planter:

Our Partnership with A29

The Village Church has planted churches and partnered with Acts 29 for nearly two decades and is committed to Acts 29’s mission to plant more and better gospel-centered churches locally, nationally, and across the globe. Our Lead Pastor, Matt Chandler, has served as the President/Executive Chairman of the Board since 2012 as well as several of our staff have served in other key roles within Acts 29. The Multiply Campaign

In 2017, after ten years of successfully being a multi-site church, The Village Church Elders felt led by the Holy Spirit to announce a plan to transition all of our five campuses into autonoumous churches by 2022. We called the campaign “Multiply” as we believed it was a prudent form of reaching DFW and beyond with the gospel of Jesus Christ through church planting and multiplication.
