At The Village Church Institute, we believe one of the primary places for a disciple to be shaped and formed is within the context of the local church.

We desire to see everyone “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Pet. 3:18), and we foster this kind of transformation through accessible learning environments designed to deepen people’s understanding of God’s story in Scripture and the essential beliefs of Christianity.

How Do We Do This?

Know God’s story through God’s Word.

The God of the universe has revealed Himself to us! To know God is to love Him, and that comes from encountering Him through a growing familiarity and deeper understanding of His story found in Scripture.

Know how God’s story changes everything.

God’s story in Scripture is the true story of the world. When we believe that claim and read the Bible as if it’s true, that will change the way we think about every other story and “truth” we’ve ever believed. Christians have been reading the Bible this way for 2,000 years. The basic and essential beliefs we have learned from God’s story are called Christian doctrines.

Know what God’s story means for your life.

As God’s story in Scripture is the true story of the world, it’s also the true story of us. Growing in familiarity and understanding of Christian Scripture and beliefs is part of God’s design for our transformation. Knowing and loving God in this way equips and enables us to live out God’s story in our day-to-day lives. This is the definition of a disciple.
