TVC Responsibilities:
As a deacon, my role is to help foster a community of connection, encouragement, and prayer within the Worship Ministry. I also help in songwriting for the local body and ensure that the Women’s Ministry is supported by the Worship Ministry.
When and how did the Lord save you?
As a 5th grader, a close friend shared the gospel with me during a sleepover. She explained that a man named Jesus came to earth from heaven and lived His life without doing anything wrong. She then shared that He died a horrible, undeserved death on a cross in order to be a sacrifice for my wrongdoing—sin—so that I could have a relationship with God. After my discussion with her, the love of Jesus lingered in my mind. A year later, I attended a summer camp with her, and the pastor spoke about the story in Matthew 7:24–27 about building a house on the rock versus building a house on the sand. Through the words of Jesus in this Scripture, I recognized that He is the rock upon which I must build my life!
When did you come to TVC and what brought you here?
My husband and I moved from Northwest Arkansas to Texas in December of 2020. Wade accepted a position at TVC, so the church was the reason for our move!
If you had to give a TED Talk, what subject would you choose to speak on, and why?
I would share about how the God of the Universe speaks to His people. We can hear from Him and communicate with Him. He can and will reveal Himself to us and will sometimes reveal things to us before they happen. We just walked through a long adoption journey, but the calling of God was so clear. I want to share with others that, although undeserving, we have a God who wants to talk with us!
If you were to have your childhood dream job, what would your job be?
I wanted to be on Broadway.
Which fictional character would you be friends with in real life, and why?
I think I would be friends with the whole cast of New Girl, but if I have to choose one, I choose Winston. I like to laugh, and everything he says is funny.
Favorite Hobby:
I love spending individual time with my kids and writing songs and poetry.
