TVC Responsibilities:
As a deacon, I lead our usher team leads, working alongside TVC staff and fellow deacons to problem solve and strategize solutions for seating, overflow spaces, and special services.
When and how did the Lord save you?
After growing up in a Methodist church, I surrendered my life to Jesus in 2004.
When did you come to TVC and what brought you here?
A close friend told us about TVC in 2005. My wife, Kim, and I began visiting Saturday night services while still serving at another local church. In the summer of 2005, we made the decision to transition to TVC.
If you had to give a TED Talk, what subject would you choose to speak on, and why?
“How Storytelling Builds Trust” – Storytelling is vital because people remember stories far more than strategy. Storytelling changes hearts before minds, the story you tell changes the room, and while facts inform, stories move people.
If you were to have your childhood dream job, what would your job be?
My childhood dream job was to be a Major League Baseball player, followed by a career as an MLB or college baseball coach.
Which fictional character would you be friends with in real life, and why?
I would be friends with Ted Lasso because of his optimistic leadership, his relationship-focused approach, and his gift for encouraging people well.
Favorite Hobby:
My favorite hobbies include following college sports, traveling in our RV, and planning travel routes.
