Disability Care Resident

TVC Responsibilities:
I assist the Care Department in the Disability Ministry by carrying out the ministry vision, structure, processes, and rhythms, while also recruiting and training volunteers and lay leaders.

When and how did the Lord save you?
I grew up in a Christian home, going to church regularly and attending a Christian school all the way through college. Because of that, I have the incredible privilege of saying that I have always known about Jesus. But knowing about Him is different from walking with Him. When I was 13, the Lord met me at a summer camp, and that was the moment my life truly became His. At 16, the Lord lovingly removed many of the things I had been finding my comfort in. While it was difficult, He used that season to deepen my dependence on Him and teach me that He alone is enough. The Lord then brought me to Texas for college. It was the first time I had truly been on my own, and it became one of the sweetest seasons of growth in my faith. During those years, the Lord not only drew me closer to Himself but also made it clear that He was calling me into ministry, specifically disability ministry. That calling is what has led me here today.

When did you come to TVC and what brought you here?
During my senior year at Baylor, I started applying to a few churches that had disability ministries. Early on, I found The Village Church and immediately fell in love with both the church and its community. As I continued to pray and pursue the opportunities in front of me, the Lord faithfully kept opening door after door, making it clear that He was leading me to Dallas. Looking back, I can see His hand guiding every step of the journey.

Which fictional character would you be friends with in real life, and why?
I would love to be friends with Belle from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. She was always my favorite princess, but also she is kind and fun. Or Barbie; life would be so fun with her!

Favorite Hobby:
I love to embroider/needlepoint and hang out with friends!
