Taylor’s Story

Taylor's professional background is in merchandising, buying, and design, but in 2015, God led Taylor to begin considering a whole new way of life, with missions as the focus. Taylor moved to Haiti in 2017 to work with the special needs community. Taylor serves with Respire Haiti in Gressier and manages the Zanmi Pou Lavi program (Friends for Life), which is designed to create lasting mutual friendships with people with and without disabilities. Taylor also assists the special education teachers with student objectives, lesson plans, and student progression. By showing these children the love of Christ, Taylor is part of an increasing movement in Haiti to give value and dignity to those with disabilities, who have long been viewed as cursed and less than.

About Haiti

Haiti is a small country with a big presence. It is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, but it is rich in generosity, beauty, and culture. Though Voodoo is a common practice, evangelical churches continue to have an increasing presence. Roman Catholicism is the most affiliated religion in Haiti.
