I consider myself blessed as my entire life testifies to God's endless grace and mercy. Born and raised in the small town of Anadarko, Okla., I grew up in a family who loves the Lord. My parents exemplified God's love transparently and did their best to instill the gospel in me and my two brothers and sister.
It nevertheless took some time for me to really submit to Christ and His calling on my life. I went through middle and high school living a lie. Egotistical and self-righteous, I found my identity in sports and by following a list of dos and don'ts in which I boasted. I was proud to call myself a Christian but missed the point of what that meant entirely.
Though I believe God was sanctifying me throughout that time, it wasn't until my freshman year of college that I really started seeking Him. After getting out of a bad relationship, I met a group of solid Christian guys whom God used to encourage and disciple me, helping birth a new love for Christ inside my heart.
This marked a new place in my spiritual journey, which led me to transfer to Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas. During that time, I grew spiritually and intellectually in biblical truth and developed as a writer, earning a B.A. in English. I also met my wife, Taylor, who outside of Christ is the greatest thing to ever happen to me.
Since graduating from college and getting married, I've worked full time as a writer for two local marketing companies and freelanced on the side, writing movie reviews and stories for several online and print publications. Taylor and I became Covenant Members in fall 2010, and we are currently part of the Plano campus.
