Short-Term Trips

Taking the Gospel to the Nations

Gospel-Centered Multiplication

We exist to bring glory to God by making disciples through gospel-centered worship, gospel-centered community, gospel-centered service and gospel-centered multiplication. This is our mission and process for discipleship. Out of this, gospel-centered multiplication is the result of discipleship, replicating Christ in others. One of the ways we pursue and live out this discipleship trait is through our Short-Term Trips. Every year we have the opportunity to go on a number of short-term mission trips through the church. Whether you go by yourself, with your family or with your Home Group, these trips are a great opportunity to bring the good news of the gospel to the nations.

For those interested in going on a short-term trip, we ask that you follow the guidelines below:

United States

Throughout the U.S., we partner with and support several church planters and churches as they minister to areas of our own country, particularly in areas where there are few believers and an opposition to the gospel. This year we will join two of those partners in ministry: Godspeed Fellowship in Providence, Rhode Island, and Seven Mile Road Church in Boston, Massachusetts.

Boston

July 30 – August 6, 2016 | $800 per person

Sent out from The Village this past year, Clint Patronella and his family serve with the Seven Mile Road church-planting network in Boston to plant a church. Our team will get a vision for living and serving in Boston as we serve alongside Seven Mile Road and their network of churches in hosting their annual Soccer Nights, a fruitful and popular outreach event in the city. We will also get to join their church for worship, fellowship and to serve them throughout the week.

Vision Trips

Visions trips are intended to give people a vision for how they might personally live and serve among the nations or strongly support those who do. In these trips, we will travel to a nation where missionaries, church planters and other believers are working to share the gospel and plant churches among an unreached people group. Unlike mission trips, the goal will not be to do ministry ourselves, but instead we will meet those who are there serving long-term, see their ministries, pray for that nation, encourage believers and get a vision for how we might join their work or similar ministries in other nations. These trips are ideal for those who want to explore their calling to missions/church planting overseas or for those who may desire to support those ministries through prayer and financial giving.

Japan 3

December 15-23, 2016 | $3,200 per person

We will travel to Japan to meet missionaries, church planters and other believers who are ministering in the cities of Tokyo, Nagoya and Sapporo. We will have the opportunity to spend time with them, see their ministries, pray with them and meet many of the Japanese people being ministered to. The team will be led by pastoral staff. The team will go through Perspectives together in the fall.

Special Requirements: This trip is open to anyone, but priority will be given to those considering living and serving in Japan for an internship or long-term ministry or those desiring to strongly support those ministries. To prepare for this trip, the team will go through Perspectives together in the fall.

Mystery Nation

December 26, 2016 – January 4, 2017 | $2,600 per person

This vision trip's destination—a nation unreached by the gospel—will remain unknown to the team until the morning they arrive at the airport. This is not for security reasons; rather the hope is for the team members to spend time praying over the location to where the Lord would send us, and in hopes of learning to be open-handed with where, how and to whom the Lord may be calling us. This team, led by pastoral staff, will travel to this nation to spend time with missionaries, church planters and national believers serving among unreached peoples. Our goal will simply be to listen and learn from those who have lived and served among the unreached and for each trip member to see if the Lord is calling them, as individuals, to ministry among the unreached. To prepare for the trip, this team will meet regularly and go through the Perspectives class together in the fall.

Special Requirements: This trip is open to anyone, but priority will be given to those considering living and serving among the nations long-term or those desiring to strongly support those ministries. The team will go through Perspectives together in the fall.
