Our classes are for every person, at every stage of life. Whether you have a lot of time or a little, whether you’ve studied Genesis five times or never opened the Bible, there is a class for you here.

Classes give you a place to learn about God’s Word and a people to grow with along the way. All classes last 11 weeks and meet for 1-2 hours each week. During that time, you’ll hear teaching from The Village staff and trained teachers and discuss what you’re learning within a small group.

Spring 2018 Classes

Class space is limited, so we want you to know exactly what you’re getting into before signing up. All classes require some outside homework, usually 1 – 2 hours each week. Each class lasts 11 weeks and costs $30.

Spring classes began the week of January 22, but in some cases it may still be possible to join a class. Email the contact for your campus for more information.

Matthew: Part 2

Establishing the kingdom of God on earth

What was God’s purpose in sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth? The final 15 chapters of the Gospel of Matthew describe the clash of the kingdom of Christ with the kingdom of earth, a conflict that ultimately leads to the cross. You’ll learn about how Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s promises to His people and how He came to establish God’s kingdom on earth.

It is not necessary to have completed Matthew: Part 1 to enroll in this class.

Registration for spring classes opens at 9 a.m., Monday, December 4, and closes at 5 p.m., Friday, January 12.

The Story of Scripture

Learning the big story of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation

How do we get from the garden in Genesis to to the city in Revelation? Looking at the whole story of Scripture, you’ll learn a framework for understanding the Bible as a whole and how humankind plays an active part in God’s story.

Registration for spring classes opens at 9 a.m., Monday, December 4, and closes at 5 p.m., Friday, January 12.

The Residency Program is a part of The Village Church Institute, which desires to make whole disciples who worship, serve, belong and multiply. The Institute trains and grows disciples through classes, forums, the Training Program and the Residency Program.

Learn God’s story through His Word.

In order to understand who God is, you become more familiar with the Bible and what He has done to reconcile the world to Himself in the person and work of Jesus Christ.

Know how that story informs your beliefs.

As you learn more about God through His Word, you also think through major biblical doctrines and how, as a result, your beliefs are shaped by them.

Apply those beliefs to every sphere of your life.

With biblical knowledge and rightly rooted beliefs, you live out God’s story in your day-to-day, becoming a more whole disciple of Jesus Christ.
