Kids' VillageKids' Village is our weekend programming for 1st – 5th graders. WorshipThrough music in Kids' Village is always fun, usually loud, at times involves dancing, and may or may not occasionally include water guns. All 1st-5th graders stay together for this part of Kids' Village. Large GroupThis is our teaching time. All 1st-5th graders stay together for this part. Lead Teachers are continually striving to find creative ways to engage children with truth. We use object lessons, drama, storytelling, demonstrations and anything else we can think of to display the greatness and worth of God. This semester we are learning all about what it means to have confidence in God and how our confidence in God leads us to obey. Small GroupsThese are the meat and potatoes of Kids' Village. We believe that the gospel should be engaged in community, even during the elementary years. Small groups are facilitated by the best leaders ever. They are covenant members of The Village and serve on a weekly basis. Kids are divided into small groups based on grade. Boys and girls stay together in 1st grade small groups, but they are divided for 2nd – 5th grade groups.During small group, students discuss the key point for the weekend by looking at scripture engaging in discussion and asking questions.Small groups also spend time praying as well as playing games that reinforce our key verse for the month. We encourage families to attend church during the same service every week if possible so that your child can form relationships with their small group leaders and peers. Denton:Sunday morning at 9 a.m. and 11: a.m. in room 200. Your child's experience in Kids' Village will be comprised of worship with a full band, large group teaching, small group discussion and games. |
