Recovery at The Village

Recovery At The Village Church exists to bring glory to God through changed lives by the gospel of Jesus Christ. We do this by living out the greatest command, to love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength and secondly, loving one another as ourselves. We draw near to God by His grace through faith and the application of the principals of Conviction, Conversion, Confession, Prayer, Restitution, Study of the Scriptures, Testimony, and Serving one another.

Recovery At The Village is not self-help, but a Christ-centered discipleship program, which helps people who struggle with many of the hurts, habits and hang-ups that keep us from living healthy, productive lives. Through Christ we find freedom from our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. Christ opens the door so that generational sins might die with us so we do not pass them to our children. Recovery At The Village is a safe place to step out of the darkness and into the light to allow God’s grace to change our hearts.

We currently have small groups addressing the following areas of recovery: men’s sexual addiction (lust to homosexuality), men’s chemical addiction, men’s pride and anger, women’s food issues, victims of abuse, women’s co-dependency (fear of man), and women’s chemical dependency. If one of these groups don’t fit you, we also have “Life issues” groups for men and women which address any struggle not specifically addressed in another group. Some examples might be Adult Child of an Alcoholic, Anger, Anxiety (fear), Depression, Divorce, Gambling, Guilt and Shame, Loneliness, Love and Relationship Addiction and Pride. Our flesh can manifest itself in any number of ways, but they have all have common roots and therefore a shared solution. That common solution we find in Christ!

Step Studies

In addition to our regularly scheduled Thursday night meetings, Recovery at the Village Church offers step studies throughout the year. Over the past year we have had over 200 individuals engage in this process. Through step studies we actively work through the recovery principals. This requires a deeper level of commitment and is a place to deepen relationships and find accountability in the application of the biblical principals involved in lives changed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. Child care is provided free of charge if a reservation is made in advance. The next Step Study will start June 7th in Highland Village. Other step studies for this year will be September 6th at the Denton Campus from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and sign ups will be available closer to those dates. Before signing up for Step Studies, please attend the Tuesday/Thursday night gatherings to find a qualified sponsor.

Future Step Studies

June 7th at the Highland Village Campus from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
September 6th at the Denton Campus from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
