The Providence Story

We planted Providence Church with the dream of transforming the North Dallas area. Our dream was never to grow into a mega-church or build huge buildings. It was never to have flashy services or consumer-driven programs. Our dream is to see the Spirit of God ignited in the hearts of our cities and to see a passion for God ignited in the hearts of our children. We long to build a community of authenticity. We want to accomplish the mission of Jesus in our area and we want to do it together.

We launched Providence Church with 40 people, very little money, four small groups, and no place to meet. During this first year the Lord provided our first home, the old Broken Spoke Saloon, a humble home for a young church, and we use every inch of our 7,000 square feet. In one short year the Lord has taken us from a group of 40 people with no home to a church of more than 400 adults, more than 100 children and 20 small groups (and yes, numbers matter, because every number we count represents a life in community, being transformed and getting on mission with Jesus).
