About ONE

• ONE, established in October 2007, seeks to redeem souls, rebuild lives, reproduce leaders and reshape communities. Our desire is that no one walks alone and that every member is fully engaged, fully known and fully loved. We dream of a church where authentic community is norm, and we are wholeheartedly pursuing the imitation of Christ.
• Collin County - Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Allen, Fairview and Lucas (located north of Dallas, in the I-75/121 Corridor) - is one of the fastest growing counties in the State of Texas. This explosive growth yields a fertile field for church planting.
• McKinney is the fastest growing city over 50,000 in population in the U.S. Allen has grown by over 130 percent in the last 10 years. As is true for any growing area there are myriad opportunities for Christians to impact the community. It is our desire that ONE position itself to be a strong presence that provides many paths to new life and deeper life in Christ through outreach, community-based small groups and undiluted Biblical teaching.
• Our target segment will include people in their early 20s to late 40s. The age distribution creates unlimited opportunities for us. It is a young and growing city. The largest segment of the population falls between the ages of 25 and 54. More than 1/3 of the total population is between age 20 and 44.
• In response to God's calling, the leadership of ONE is committed to launching this church in September 2008, with preview services starting in the summer of 2008.

ONE has a multi-faceted church planting strategy. One dimension of this strategy is to plant the church in one of the fastest growing counties in Texas. We have established a solid team of men, women and families to serve on our Launch Team. Forty-six people serve on our Launch Team (including staff) - 17 men and 29 women. Members of our Launch Team believe in the mission and vision of ONE, and the have agreed to commit their time, talents and resources to ONE in this season.

Stories of Life Change:

Jessica's Story - ONE has given me the opportunity to be around a group of women who truly love the Lord and are whole-heartedly pursuing Him. They are all at different seasons in their life and they have been vulnerable and transparent enough to let me see that. They are young, old, career-driven, mothers, daughters, searching for 'God's dream job," and so many other things. These women have forced me to grow. They are showing me how to walk through this life.

At my previous church I was in a small group that I really enjoyed. Everyone in the group was about the same age and, in many instances, we were facing similar challenges and struggles. While that group was truly beneficial, I see that the diversity of experience among the women at ONE has changed my perspective on so many things. This community of women can impart wisdom, experience and sound doctrine in a way that is very different from my small group of peers.

One of my most memorable experiences has been getting to know the woman who leads my ministry area. There was a point when I became interested in a guy at our church, but I knew we had to be careful about how we interacted. Because I knew the character of my ministry lead, I felt comfortable telling her my feelings about this guy, as well as asking her how I should handle the situation. Since then we talk everyday, we have dinner together just to hang out and talk, and she takes time to walk me through this process day-by-day. She doesn't just call me every once and a while, then leave me to figure it out on my own. She really supports me.

I don't think I've ever experienced something like this — and it's not always easy — but I know it's what I need.

Willie's Story - Just being around the people at ONE has been life changing. I really had the opportunity to see that during our week of Solemn Assembly. Our Lead Pastor, Conway, invited me to start getting the men together so we could hang out, get to know each other better, and just 'do life" together. One of his suggestions was to have a men's prayer night during Solemn Assembly. My prayer for that night was that the Lord would bring together a group of men who would let go and be real about their fears, challenges, fear and dreams. After that night, I realized that I was finally with a group of men who wanted to serve Christ and live boldly for Him!

Being at ONE has ignited a fire in me for God. Every chance I get want to spend in prayer and in His Word because I want to know more about Him. And, I'm learning so much from everyone, not just the pastor. The men, women and families at ONE have already taught me so much. I just look forward to all that we are going to do here.

Ways to Pray:

• That ONE would continue to have a tender heart for the residents of Collin County.
• For members of ONE who will be moving from the southern sector of Dallas to North Dallas and Collin County.
• For the Adopt-An-Apartment outreach project - that the Lord would guide us in which apartments to select and that we would truly meet the various needs of those living in these apartment communities.
• That members of the ONE Launch Team would embrace the idea of 'just walking across the room" to meet others, develop relationships and share their faith. Our prayer is that such behavior would be the norm at ONE.
• We would continue to teach God's Word in an uncompromising manner, and that we would always seek to be relevant.
• Each member of our Launch Team would grow and develop as godly leaders and lead well.
• For additional funding for 2008
• Thriving partnerships with others churches to help guide us through this process.
