Baptism At The Village
For many, baptism is the first public step of obedience to our Lord. Baptism is very special and meaningful. It is truly something to anticipate with joy! If you have not been baptized by immersion following your salvation, we ask you to take this step. Before your baptism, we offer a special class designed to answer questions concerning this ordinance. During our time together, we will discuss the biblical significance of baptism. We will also cover several frequently-asked questions and logistical details, as well as give you opportunity to share your testimony.
Please note the following concerning baptism at The Village:
- All baptism candidates at The Village Church are required to take the class prior to their public baptism. Times will be announced prior to the class meetings.
- If you were baptized by immersion prior to your attendance at The Village Church, we do not require you to be baptized again, unless your baptism preceded your salvation experience.
- Attendance at the baptism class does not require you to actually be baptized if you are not ready to do so. If you would simply like more information about our beliefs concerning this ordinance or a chance to ask more questions, please feel free to sign-up and attend.
- The baptism class and subsequent baptisms will be held during the same timeframe as the Covenant Membership Class. This will allow any member candidates to complete covenant requirements by the end of the membership class.
- At The Village, baptism candidates include only those who also intend to walk in community with us. If you feel called to another church, or are only passing through, we recommend waiting until you find a church to call home.
